  We bring our kids here every Thanksgiving weekend on our way to visit Julian to partake in the welcoming of the Christmas season. It's a tradition but also we enjoy the comfort food and the pie. The staff is friendly and its cozy country atmosphere is welcoming. I recommend the Dutch apple or mountain berry pie with a scoop of their cinnamon ice-cream...it's the best!

  Portions are big and service is good. A nice spot to stop on the way up or down the mountain. Club sandwich is always a winner.

  The service was ok, and on New Years Eve, so my expectations weren't high.
  
  The food was not as acceptable. I had French toast, bacon, and eggs.The bacon was not hot but decently crispy, and the eggs were a true over medium. But the French toast was simply awful. After my initial bites I kept going out of courtesy, but I couldn't continue long. The bread they use appeared burnt and moldy, although neither seemed to be the case. My theory is that the bread has a great amount of egg in it either in baking or in dipping before grilling. The result is a texture that isn't pleasing at all, and a dull and acrid taste.
